Referral Program

Overall Purpose: The purpose for using an applicant referral incentive program is to increase the number of quality applicants that apply to the USU MHR On-Campus program.

Summary for Current Students and Alumni of the MHR Program

Incentive Program: Current Students

The program will encourage current students to refer applicants that have completed their undergraduate degree from any accredited university.

The current student would need to submit the prospective applicant’s name to the MHR applicant referral page.  Students may not refer potential applicants they meet while recruiting for the program (e.g., on an official recruitment activity/trip, formal interactions as a VP of Recruiting).

To qualify for a referral award, the referred applicant must complete 100% of the application process for the on-campus MHR program.  This includes paying the application fees, submitting a valid standardized test score and submitting completed recommendations (completing the entire application process).

Who is a Current Student?

Any student currently in the MHR program or the dual degree program is eligible to participate.  Students that have completed all MHR degree requirements, but are still completing the MBA or MMIS, are eligible to participate.

Reward Amount

Assuming the referred applicant is an “unknown” referral to the program, the student referring will be given a $100 Amazon gift card.  Additional referrals will be awarded a $50 Amazon gift card (maximum of four total referrals per year). This will be paid for out of the MHR budget.

Incentive Program: Alumni of the MHR Program

The program will encourage alumni to refer applicants that have completed their undergraduate degree from any accredited university.

To be considered for a referral award, the alum would need to submit the prospect’s name to the MHR applicant referral page.

To qualify for the award, the applicant must complete 100% of the application process for the campus MHR program.  This includes paying the application fees, submitting a valid standardized test score and submitting completed recommendations (completing the entire application process).

Who are considered Alumni?

Any person who graduated from the campus MHR program is considered an alumnus of the program.

Reward Amount

Assuming the referred applicant is an “unknown” referral to the program (someone the program was not already recruiting), the alumnus will receive:

  • First Referral: Nice MHR swag (e.g., quilted jacket, jacket/pullover, tumbler, high quality water bottle).
    • Additional referrals will be awarded a $25 Amazon gift card (maximum of four total referrals per year).

Incentive Program: Current Student and Alumni of the MHR Program

Tuition Award for Accepted Applicants

Referred applicants that apply, enroll, and pay their fees will receive a $250 “tuition award” after the tuition refund deadline of their first semester in the program. This is a great way to empower someone to make a solid investment in his or her future and allows alumni to extend their legacy in the Huntsman School MHR program. This will be paid for by the Management department.

Items to Note

  • If the prospect has already started and/or completed an application, no award will be awarded
  • If the referred applicant is already in our database, the referrer may not be considered for a referral award, but would be eligible for the “Exception Award” drawing (see below).

Exception Award

If a referred person is already in the Salesforce list of prospects but has not yet started an application, the referrer will be entered into a drawing for a reward if the referred person submits a completed application to the on-campus program.

To be entered in the drawing for an award, the current student/alumnus would need to submit the prospect’s name to the MHR applicant referral page. A random drawing will be held for two $75 Amazon gift cards: one for an alum and one for a current student. However, if the prospect has already started and/or completed an application, the referrer will not be considered for the award.  Exception awards will be drawn once per year.
