The FJ Management Center for Student Success

In 2014, through a generous donation from the Call Family Foundation, we opened the FJ Management Center for Student Success. The center brings together various student services, including undergraduate advising and career development under one organizational structure and in one physical space to create a "one-stop-shop" for students seeking academic and career advising.

Through one-on-one, personalized visits, our undergraduate academic advising team facilitates academic experiences and enhances career opportunities.

Our faculty, career coaches, and others can help you to explore career options and become prepared to take advantage of placement opportunities.

More About Our Center

The undergraduate academic advising team is one of the strongest on campus, with several advisors having been recognized at the university, regional, and national level. The career development team meets with students in one-on-one and group settings to prepare them for life after graduation.

The FJ Management Center was a pioneer in the use of an online appointment manager system, which allows students to make an appointment with their academic or career advisors from the convenience of their phone. This system has increased convenience for students, and greatly increased effectiveness and efficiency for the student/advisor meetings by providing advisors with data about the students prior to the meeting. The entire university now uses the online appointment manager system.

Student Success Stories

Jill Richardson

The career coaches at The FJ Management Center for Student Success are brilliant. My career coach was an amazing help for me on my internship hunt, narrowing my list down to a few dream companies I would love to intern for. She used her many global connections to message recruiters my resumé, which she edited 'til it sparkled. When I heard back from a few recruiters requesting an interview, I was ecstatic. I was in Spain during one of these requests, and the recruiter wanted an interview the next day. I emailed my career coah and she got back to me right away, even when we were continents apart. She sent me sample interview questions and critiqued my answers.

The FJ Management Center has helped me prepare for my career. They have great staff who genuinely care and are always are willing to help. My advisor has helped me plan out my college plan which has kept me on the right track to graduate and a career coach has helped me prepare my resume to apply for my dream internship positions. I am so grateful to have it so conveniently here on campus.
