Our Selection Process

Selection into our program is challenging and competitive. In addition to the typical entrance requirements (e.g., GPA, graduate exam scores, leadership and work experience), applicants are invited to an interview day on campus similar to a corporate fly-out. The day includes structured interviews, a group activity, and a social hour. Applicants are rated on various competencies throughout the day, including leadership, emotional intelligence, collaboration, problem solving and professional promise.

Students are required to participate in a faculty led 13 day international trip where they have the opportunity to meet and learn from international HR professionals thus giving them the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge in managing human resources in a global context.

Dual Degree Students

Many of our students choose the unique option of completing two master’s degrees in two years. The MHR degree can be combined with either an MBA or MMIS degree. This sets our students apart because they gain a in depth specialization in HR, but also a broad understanding of business administration or information systems. This gives our students a well-rounded perspective on business strategy as well as applied specialist expertise. 80% or more of our students typically complete a dual degree option.

Company Hiring Options

The Master of Human Resources Program offers a number of recruiting options for companies seeking to connect with our students for full-time positions and internships. It is our pleasure to consult with you about which of the following strategies are best suited to your recruitment goals.

  • On-Campus Interviews: We will work closely with you to coordinate the application process and schedule interviews to meet students. Employers typically post an opening or opportunity with us along with a resume deadline, prior to their on-campus visits. We recommend at least three weeks advance notice in order to allow you the time to preselect candidates and students can prepare for their meetings with you.
  • Information Sessions: We understand you have important information you want to share with our students about your company. Allow us to reserve the proper space and technology for you providing the opportunity to highlight your brand and share the opportunities with your organization.
  • Virtual Information Sessions/Interviews: If you are unable to visit our beautiful campus we can also assist you with recruiting from a distance. We can assist you with recruiting virtually whether through Skype, Google, or any other platform.
  • Resume Referrals: Because we accept a maximum of 35 students per year, we are very familiar with all of our students. We can pinpoint specific qualifiers and experience that best fits your company needs. We will advertise your career opportunities and find you the right candidates. Send us descriptions, application procedures, and deadlines and we will refer top candidate resumes and also assist you with the potential next steps.
