Madrid
Quote My trip to Spain has inspired me to travel more, experience more cultures, and put myself in situations that can be uncomfortable. I am excited to take these trip experiences with me for the rest of my life. Quote
Welcome to Madrid—an energetic, elegant capital where history, diplomacy, business, and the arts all converge. As the financial and political center of Spain, Madrid is a city that offers a compelling look at how Southern European markets are adapting to global shifts while preserving their deep cultural identity.
In Madrid, students will dive into a broad range of business conversations—from multinational corporations managing operations across Latin America and Europe, to local startups redefining what it means to scale with purpose. You'll gain insight into European Union policy, sustainability innovation, and the evolving role of Spain as a bridge between continents. Visits may include global consulting firms, renewable energy leaders, creative industries, and emerging tech hubs—all designed to reflect the diversity of Madrid’s business landscape.
Culturally, Madrid offers no shortage of inspiration. Explore the masterpieces of the Prado, enjoy tapas in historic plazas, and witness the rhythm and power of flamenco. Whether you're walking through the halls of the Spanish Parliament or sitting beneath Goya’s brushstrokes, you’ll be immersed in a city that takes its history seriously—yet is always looking ahead.
This experience is about more than understanding the European market. It’s about learning how trust, time, creativity, and resilience influence everything from business models to leadership styles. Madrid challenges you to think deeply, engage meaningfully, and carry the lessons of the Old World into the challenges of the new.
Previous students have reflected about their experience in Madrid:
Quote This was an incredible experience—one that I don’t think I could have fully grasped without a trip like this. Not only did I get to visit a new country, but I also had the unique opportunity to gain firsthand insight into its business environment and economic structure. This experience broadened my understanding of international collaboration and opened my eyes to the potential of working across borders. It gave me a fresh perspective that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve on my own. Quote
Quote Madrid was so beautiful and I think the culture and history of the city is amazing. Quote
Quote The Royal Palace was also impressive for its history and artwork… Seeing that history and culture of Spain through these visits helped me better understand the impressiveness that we still have these places to visit even though they are centuries old. Quote
Quote Visiting Madrid was an incredible opportunity to gain both professional and cultural experience. Meeting with local businesses gave me valuable insight into how international companies operate, and helped me understand global business practices from a new perspective. Beyond the professional growth, immersing myself in Spanish culture broadened my worldview and helped me appreciate the value of cultural awareness in any career. Quote

Quote I haven't personally spent much time out of the country, and this trip to Spain was very eye opening to me. I was able to experience a completely different culture and explore how business operates in Madrid. My biggest takeaway from the experience is the importance of slowing down and focusing on the important things in life, like family, friends, food, and socializing. Often in the US we get too focused on work and the drive for more money etc etc... Spain made me slow down and remember the reasons why we work. Quote
