Learn About the Program

Meet the Program Requirements

Check the requirements to see if you’re ready to take the next step toward becoming a Huntsman Scholar.

  • Be admitted to Utah State University and enrolled on the Logan Campus. *
  • Must have at least one Huntsman School of Business declared major before the start of the first term in which you would be applying to begin as a Huntsman Scholar.
  • Have a strong academic record.
  • Demostrate leadership potential, community involvement, and meaningful extracurricular engagement.

* In order to do this, apply to Utah State University. Utah State University’s Office of Admissions can be contacted at admit@usu.edu or by calling 435-797-1079. Once admitted, you will be given the login credentials needed to get into the Huntsman Scholar application.

Apply to the Program

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • High School GPA or USU/College GPA
  • High School transcript or USU/College transcript
  • ACT/SAT scores if available
  • Details of your involvement in extracurricular activities, service, and work/internship experiences
  • Recommendations: You will be asked to provide first name, last name, and email address (a personal email address, NOT a K-12 school district email) for two recommenders
    • Recommender 1: Should be an academic recommendation
    • Recommender 2: Should be a service/leadership recommendation
  • Application requirements vary by student type. Please make sure you fill out the application that pertains to your status as a student.
    • First-Time College Student – Never attended college or university (excluding concurrent enrollment)
    • Transfer Student – Attended college or university (somewhere other than USU) after high school
    • Current USU Student – Currently admitted to USU and enrolled in classes

Complete an Interview

After submitting your application, you’ll be invited to complete a brief Hirevue interview.

  • You will need to be prepared to answer three questions using your computer or device so be sure you have both video and audio capabilities before starting. Be sure to use the practice question before you begin. This is the easiest way to confirm your camera and microphone are working properly.
  • Your application is not complete until you have submitted both the Hirevue interview and the written application.

Review and Notification

After completing all application steps, our team will carefully review your materials. You’ll receive your admission decision via email once our selection process is complete.
