The Leadership Challenge for Elementary Schools
"Success is when you realize obstacles you face are challenges to help you become better—and your response equals the challenge."
—Dr. Stephen R. Covey
In March 2020, The Stephen R. Covey Leadership Center at Utah State University is hosting the first annual Leadership Challenge for Elementary Schools (LCES). LCES is a unique opportunity for 100 students from 10 elementary schools (10 students from each school) to compete in various experiential learning challenges and leadership simulations. The top three schools will be awarded prizes and the winner will be presented with a championship banner to commemorate their accomplishment as the top leadership school in Utah. LCES presents an extraordinary opportunity for your student leaders to learn from professors and students at USU and to develop their leadership competencies.
We will be selecting 10 schools to participate from accross Northern Utah. The application process is competitive. Applicants are evaluated on a number of factors, including what practices, behaviors, and outcomes set you apart as a powerful incubator for future leaders.
If your school is interested in participating in LCES, then apply by November 1, 2019. You will be notified by December 1, 2019 if your school is one of the 10 schools selected. Schools will need to provide transportation to and from the event.
If you have any further questions about the event please email Weston Hyde at email@example.com.
