Internships Purpose and Overview

Internships are a critical step in discovering your career passion and landing meaningful career opportunities and give you:

  • A Competitive Edge at Graduation
  • Obtain Real World Skill Sets
  • Add Layers of Richness to Academic Experience

Steps to Obtain an Internship Approval and Getting Approval to Register for an Internship Course

  1. Find possible internships: (Use your personal networks; review internship postings on Aggie Handshake; in some situations current work may qualify)
  2. Review Internship Pre-requisites and Internship Requirements specific to your major (see table below for pre-requites and a link for major overview pages)
      1. If you are an international student, contact the Office of International Students and Scholars to complete the procedures to become authorized for an internship. Phone: 435.797.1124 or email: global.engagement@usu.edu.
  3. If you meet course pre-requisites (as outlined below for you major), schedule an evaluation appointment to review Internship Major Requirements with your departmental internship coordinator.
