Resources for Student Entrepreneurs

The Center for Entrepreneurship aids students in the creation of new organizations that promote independence and self-sufficiency, and make significant contributions to the community in which they operate. Specifically, the center brings together a host of resources from the campus and the community to facilitate the development of successful new ventures.

Funding Sources for New Ventures

Students have a variety of opportunities within the center to receive funding for their new venture. By taking your company through the entrepreneurship club teams you prepare for entering competitions like Opportunity Quest, and the $100 Start-up Competition. All of these competitions have cash prizes.

Once you have used our competitions to refine and improve your business plan, and have proven that your business model can work, you'll be better prepared to pitch your new venture to funding sources associated with our Center for Entrepreneurship. We work with a number of angel investors, private equity firms, and venture capitalists. We can introduce you to the right funding source when the time is right.

 Marketing & Branding Services

Marketing is a key factor to success when starting a new venture. The Center assists student companies by connecting them with other students with expertise and skills like graphic design, public relations, writing, and branding.

 Mentoring Programs

Students looking for mentoring and help with their business idea or plan have many resources available to them. To be considered for our mentoring programs, we strongly encourage students to complete the following:

Meet with Student Experts

The Center for Entrepreneurship has student interns to that specialize in helping new business start-ups. The interns are trained to help you with the different steps of starting a business.

Receive a Mentorship Recommendation

Once you have “graduated” from the student mentors, they can recommend you to a member of our founders board. Our Founders Board Members generously serve to help mentor student companies and come from a wide range of backgrounds and skill sets.
