Hansen Differential Tuition Scholarship

The Hansen Charitable Trust has established a scholarship to assist undergraduate Huntsman School of Business students with demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is awarded per semester and is based on financial need, as per a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) score. The maximum scholarship award amount is the lesser of $1,250 per semester or total paid differential tuition.

Application No Longer Required

The Hansen Differential Tuition Scholarship does not require an application.  The scholarship will be processed using Scholarship Universe.  All eligible students (see scholarship criteria outlined below) will automatically be considered.  Not all eligible students will receive scholarship funds.

Questions can be sent via email to huntsmanscholarships@usu.edu

Hansen Differential Tuition Scholarship Criteria

To qualify for this scholarship assistance students must meet the following criteria which will filter them into the scholarship as a candidate within Scholarship Universe:

  • Must be a declared undergraduate Huntsman School of Business major.
  • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current academic year (2025-2026) to establish your financial need amount (must be greater than zero to qualify).
  • Be enrolled in at least one 3000, 4000, or 5000-level Huntsman School of Business course (i.e. paying Huntsman School differential tuition).

Scholarship Processing:

  • All eligible candidates are evaluated using an algorithm that ranks applicants based on established criteria.
  • Scholarships are awarded in order of ranking until all available funds for that semester are exhausted.

Awarding Notes:

  • Not all eligible students will receive funding.
  • Scholarship decisions are influenced by several variables each semester, including:
    • The number of students in the eligible pool.
    • Each student’s calculated financial need.
    • The amount of differential tuition paid.
  • Receiving a scholarship in a previous semester does not guarantee future awards.
  • Similarly, not receiving an award previously does not disqualify a student from receiving it in a future semester.
