How does one market a region? Come to Marseille and find out! The second largest metropolis in France and its oldest city, Marseille has been an important trading port since 600 BC. Founded by Greek Phocaea and then ruled by the Romans, Marseille serves as a commercial gateway to France, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. As one of the most multicultural cities in Europe, Marseille has a thriving economic environment, a growing population, and ever-increasing trade and tourism. As the capital of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Marseille is an ideal hub for foreign direct investment in a variety of industries, including shipping and logistics, aerospace, digital and creative, renewable energy, biomedical, cosmetics and fragrances, and agriculture. Attracting established and emerging companies, Marseille offers businesses an exciting and vibrant economic environment.
