Leadership in Times of Grief & Crisis: Insights from President Astrid S. Tuminez

For the seventh webinar in this series, Dr. Susan R. Madsen will moderate a powerful conversation with Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez, the seventh president of Utah Valley University. President Tuminez has faced profound challenges in 2025, including the loss of her husband earlier this year and the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk that occurred on her own campus. Yet resilience has defined her journey from the very beginning—growing up in an impoverished farming community and the slums of a major city in the Philippines.
This webinar will explore what it means to lead through grief and crisis, while also examining the complexities of guiding a large institution of higher education in uncertain times. Utah High School Clean Air Marketing Contest -- State Winners Announcement and Awards Ceremony
Ceremony/Awards/Celebration
The 11th annual Utah High School Clean Air Marketing Contest will hold its state winners announcement and awards ceremony on Saturday, February 14, at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at 10:30 a.m. Food and activities will be provided. The objective of the contest focuses on high school teens creating public service announcements to encourage Utahns to engage in clean air actions (e.g., refrain from idling, carpooling, using the app over drive-thru). Entries are often funny, provocative, and terrifying and center on teen pop culture. This year, over 1000 teens from high schools across Utah and southern Idaho competed. All state finalists entries will be on display at the museum, and approximately 20 state winners will be announced. Over $7000 in prizes will be awarded. Numerous Huntsman School marketing students and alum served as judges for the competition.
