2024-2025 Student and Employee Awards

Each year, the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business recognizes top-performing students, staff, and faculty for their academic and professional accomplishments. For the 2024-2025 academic year, we would like to acknowledge and commend the following individuals as recipients of these awards and achievements.

Student Awards

• Sajid Hasnat (M.S., Economics) – Master's Student Researcher of the Year

• Isaac Crosby (Economics, Finance, & Data Analytics) - Scholar of the Year
• Ciera Stastny (Accounting) – Undergraduate Teaching Fellow of the Year
• Lay Lian Doh (Economics & Finance) – Aggie First Scholar of the Year

Promotion & Tenure

Several Huntsman School Faculty were awarded promotions for exemplifying a commitment to student success and excellence in their respective research.

• Polly Conrad, Senior Lecturer in the Data Analytics + Information Systems Department, was promoted to Principal Lecturer.
• John Ferguson, Senior Lecturer in the Management Department, was promoted to Principal Lecturer.
• Dr. Jayson Talakai, Assistant Professor in the School of Accountancy, received tenure and a promotion to Associate Professor.
• Dr. Pedram Jahangiry, Assistant Professor of Practice in the Data Analytics + Information Systems Department, was promoted to Associate Professor of Practice.
• Dr. Sepideh Raei, Assistant Professor in the Economics & Finance Department, received tenure and a promotion to Associate Professor.
• Dr. Rick Hardcopf, Assistant Professor in the Management Department, received tenure and a promotion to Associate Professor.

A-Pin Recipients

The A-Pin Award has been a Utah State University tradition since 1910. This prestigious award recognizes students who have earned a 4.0 GPA for two consecutive semesters carrying 15 or more credit hours. During the 2024 calendar year (spring 2024, summer 2024, and fall 2024 semesters), 101 Huntsman students earned an A-Pin award.
