We are pleased to announce that the Huntsman School of Business and School of Accountancy’s business and accounting degree programs have successfully completed the continuous improvement review process, and have received the news of their extension of accreditation by the AACSB. The AACSB accreditation is the highest accreditation for business and accounting programs worldwide, with less than seven percent of business and accounting programs achieving this designation.

“This is the culmination of the tremendous group effort of many faculty, staff, college and university administrators, students, and friends and supporters of the Huntsman School. We are proud of this accomplishment, and at the same time, are committed to further exploration of new and innovative ways to improve our educational and experiential offerings to our students, said Huntsman School Dean Douglas Anderson."

In order to achieve AACSB accreditation, a school should be focused on demonstrating a commitment to quality business education through instruction, scholarship, and community engagement, along nine standards.
Using a “principles-based and outcomes-focused” approach, the nine AACSB standards focus on strategy, innovation, student success, and impact, and encourage schools to demonstrate their unique contributions through strategies that align with the School’s stated mission.

At the Huntsman School, the mission is to develop leaders of distinction in commerce and public affairs and its purpose is to be a career accelerator for students and an engine of growth for the community, state, nation, and world.
“We were fortunate to demonstrate our commitment to excellence during a peer review team visit in November 2022,” said Chad Simon, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. “These visits occur every 5 years and we ultimately received re-accreditation for our business programs and also received separate accreditation for our School of Accountancy. This visit also provided us with an opportunity to hear and learn from the peer team members as they shared their insights.”
