Biography
Monica Thunell is enthusiastic to serve as the Program Assistant for Global Learning at the Huntsman School of Business. In this role, she helps coordinate international programs that provide students with firsthand exposure to global business, culture, and leadership. Monica values the formative impact of immersive global learning and is dedicated to creating meaningful, well-executed opportunities that broaden students’ worldviews.
Prior to joining the Huntsman School, Monica worked in health education at the Bear River Health Department and served as an adjunct instructor at Utah State University. She holds a Master of Public Health from Des Moines University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from Utah State. Monica brings a strong background in program management, student engagement, and cross-cultural communication, developed through her work in public health, higher education, and entrepreneurship. Fluent in Spanish and deeply rooted in her Mexican-American heritage, Monica offers a perspective shaped by both lived experience and professional expertise.
Monica and her husband, Andy, are the proud parents of four adventurous boys. As a family, they enjoy traveling, exploring the outdoors, and finding joy in life’s small, everyday moments.
