She has spent over three decades working in the nonprofit sector, where she has led organizational growth and expanded access to critical services.

Her leadership and advocacy have extended across state and national levels through executive, board, and advisory roles focused on strengthening systems of care for children and families. As past President of the Utah Association of Family Support Centers, she helped secure millions in annual legislative funding which continues to support at-risk children and families.

She has served on numerous local, statewide, and national boards and committees, including the Primary Children’s Hospital Pediatric Integrated Post-Trauma Services Board, the University of Utah Center for Trauma Informed Utah Steering Committee, the University of Kentucky Secondary Traumatic Stress Innovations and Solutions Center Advisory Board, and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network Steering Committee. She has also held leadership roles within Business Networking International, contributed to the National Family Support Network, and served as a principal investigator on federal grant projects.

Esterlee’s contributions have been widely recognized through numerous awards and honors including the Woman of Achievement Award. Recently, she was awarded a proclamation from the Cache County Utah Executive’s Office celebrating more than 25 years of service to vulnerable populations in addition to a statewide award for “Outstanding Vision, Dedication, and Leadership.” She was also named the 2020 Professional Business Woman of the Year by the Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce, received the 2022 Cache County Utah Kind Friend Award, and was featured regularly through tv, radio, and print interviews in addition to regular public speaking engagements.

Since her retirement in 2021, Esterlee has continued her commitment to service through teaching, consultation, and wellness-focused work. She has taught workshops on Happiness and Well-Being at Utah State University, hosted sold-out mental health summits, and co-founded a faith-based nonprofit centered on mental wellness grounded in faith. At the heart of her work is a commitment to human-centered leadership that fosters meaningful personal and professional growth.
