Biography
Kathy McConkie serves as the Associate Director of the Jon M. Huntsman MBA program, where she is responsible for ensuring a high-quality learning experience for the students enrolled in the Executive and Online MBA programs. Since joining the Huntsman School of Business in December 2006, Kathy has brought a wealth of experience from her previous roles at Utah State University where she has worked since 1990, including grant specialist at the Center for Integrated BioSystems, business officer for Academic and International Affairs, and staff assistant for Continuing Education.
Her dedication and service have been recognized on multiple occasions. In June 2022, she was named Utah State University's Employee of the Month, and in 2021 she was recognized as the Employee of the Year by the Marketing and Strategy Department. She was nominated by one of her MBA students and received an Outstanding Faculty Award from the Pinnacle Honor Society for 2020-2021. She was also honored as the Professional Employee of the Year by the Huntsman School in both 2010 and 2016 and awarded a Distinguished Service Award in 2000 by the Biological and Irrigation Engineering Department.
Kathy earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Utah State University while working full-time—an achievement that reflects her deep commitment to education and to the institution she has proudly served for decades. She and her husband, Carl, are the proud parents of three sons and grandparents to five beautiful granddaughters.
