Biography
Nathan Laursen is an adjunct instructor at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, where he teaches Business Communications (BUS 3200) and has previously instructed courses in news writing and leadership development at USU.
With a strong passion for improving programs, individuals, and communities through education, technology, and communication, Nathan finds immense joy in working with students and helping them enhance their skills and succeed. His over 18 years of experience in communications, media, marketing, and advertising have allowed him to mentor and train hundreds of students and professionals.
Nathan is a two-time alumnus of Utah State and acknowledges the profound impact instructors and cocurricular activities have on someone’s development and career path. He spent almost a decade advising the award-winning USU Student Media program.
Beyond his instructional role, Nathan is an outcomes and assessment analyst in the Office of Analysis, Assessment, and Accreditation at Utah State University. He provides training and support in program assessment and data analysis of student learning to more than 55 departments within the university.
Nathan and his family live in Nibley, where he has served on the city council since 2020. He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, volunteering in his community, and participating in various recreational activities.
