Biography
Douglas C. Derrick is the Executive Director of the Analytics Solutions Center at Utah State University and a Professional Practice Professor in the Data Analytics + Information Systems department at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. He received his PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a Masters degree in Business of Administration from San Jose State University. He is a Distinguished Graduate (top 6%) from the United States Air Force Academy.
Dr. Derrick was the Associate Dean for Research and the Mutual of Omaha Distinguished Chair of Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He also worked for several years in industry as a Program Manager at MacAulay-Brown, Inc. Preceding that, he was proud to serve as an Air Force officer. He has won grants from the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Science Foundation, and multiple private companies. As a contractor and academic, he has been awarded contracts and grants totaling $80.5 Million over the last 20 years (principal investigator awards total $30.1 Million).
Doug's research interests include human-agent interactions, intelligent agents, data fusion, decision support systems, and persuasive technology. He has had numerous articles published in journals and conferences including: Journal of Management Information Systems, IEEE Intelligent Systems, AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interactions, Computers in Human Behavior, Group Decision and Negotiation, Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, IEEE International Conference on Intelligence and Security Informatics and IEEE International Carnahan Conference on Security Technology.
