Biography
Barb is a proud second-generation Aggie, spending much of her childhood exploring the Music Department, where her father was a professor. Naturally, she attended USU and earned her degree in Speech Communications with a Public Relations Emphasis. She completed an internship with a prominent ad agency in Denver, Thomas & Perkins. Following graduation, Barb worked at a community hospital in Boston, organizing events, engaging with donors, writing press releases and newsletters and assisting with other administrative tasks. While raising her family, she sought volunteer opportunities, serving on various local boards of directors for the Cache Civic Ballet, the Whittier Community Center and the Top of Utah Marathon Committee.
She completed the Business Technology Certification at Bridgerland Technical College and has worked as a part-time teacher there for two years. It was at BTECH that she developed a desire to help students realize and rise to their potential.
Barb works as an External Outreach Coordinator for the Huntsman Scholar Program, specifically working with the professional mentors. She is excited to be a part of the energy and enthusiasm at the Huntsman School and looks forward to contributing to its continuing success.
Outside of work, Barb’s passions are her family, which include her husband, Chris; three daughters; three sons-in-law; one son; and two (almost three) adorable granddaughters. She loves hiking and running, has taught and continues to take piano lessons.
