Biography
Professor Caliendo is the Senior Associate Dean of the Huntsman School and the Academic Director of the Center for Growth and Opportunity. He previously served as the Department Head of Economics and Finance and as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Huntsman School.
His scholarly research focuses on topics in Macroeconomics, Public Economics, Financial Economics, and Household Finance. He was named the Eldon J. Gardner Teacher of the Year at Utah State University in 2011, and he received the Young Economists Award of the International Institute of Public Finance in 2008 for research that “stands out for its scientific quality, creativity and relevance” (award shared with co-author Scott Findley).
Professor Caliendo has been a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and has presented his research at universities and conferences across the world.
