Biography

Andrew Brim is a Professional Practice Assistant Professor of Data Analytics and Information Systems at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, Utah State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2022), an M.S. in Financial Economics (2019), and a B.S. in Computer Science (2006), combining studies in computing and economics to support applied work in AI and financial trading technologies.

 

Prior to earning his doctorate, Andrew spent 10 years as a software developer and trading support analyst in the Global Corporate Investment Banking division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. There, he developed trading systems for credit derivatives, rates derivatives, and electronic/algorithmic trading desks.

 

Andrew’s research interests include artificial intelligent stock market predictions, and reinforcement learning techniques in various areas. Andrew also mentors the Crypto Currency and Trading club here on campus.

 

Andrew met his wife Camey at Utah State—go Aggies! Together, they enjoy life in beautiful Cache Valley with their four children. Outside of work, Andrew’s interests include music, herpetology, rugby, and religion.
