Shikhar Jain

Biography

Shikhar Jain joins the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business as a Lecturer in Data Engineering. Before coming to USU, he worked as a Data Scientist at Walmart Global Tech, where he built large-scale recommendation and ranking systems used across Walmart's shopping platforms. His work included designing explore-exploit algorithms that power Walmart's AI shopping assistant, personalization systems for the cart page, and ranking systems for major deals and holiday events, reaching millions of shoppers and products.

Shikhar has spent his career working at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning, building large-scale data pipelines, personalization models, and analytics systems in production environments. He is excited to bring that real-world experience into the classroom and to help students connect the concepts they learn with how data engineering actually works in industry.
