Business Council serves Huntsman School of Business students by representing the student's voice, promoting student involvement, facilitating professional opportunities, and developing student leaders.

As a member of the council, you will make a lasting impact in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business by supporting the Dean’s Office and its initiatives and assisting the Business Senator in fulfilling their platform throughout the upcoming school year. While the Senator is elected, the President, Executive Director, Committee Directors, and members are hired and paid by the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.
Duties and Expectations
- Join a Marketing, Relations, Events, Development, or an Advocacy/Clubs committee.
- Attend weekly Council meetings and meet with your committee regularly.
- Create value-driven proposals for funding events and initiatives.
- Plan and execute events like Business Week, Finals Breakfast, and a Senator Debate.
- Support HSB events such as Huntsman Career Expo, Clubs in the Courtyard, and Focused Fridays.
- Advance Huntsman School strategic goals.
- Support HSB clubs and organizations by meeting regularly with club leadership finding ways to increase attendance and involvement.
- Strengthen the Huntsman community, including alumni, prospective, and current students.
Members are expected to be exemplary representatives of the Huntsman School, active in class, extracurricular activities, and Focused Friday events. The Council represents the student body’s interests and goals.

The current Business Senator and Council Advisor can revise the charter each school year to maintain flexibility as things evolve.
How to Apply
To be selected into this highly competitive group, be sure to save the dates and follow the instructions carefully. Upcoming applications are for the Summer 2026 through Spring 2027 academic year. Current positions are 1 President, 1 Executive Director, 4-5 Directors, and 13 Members. This is a stipend paid position that varies per position.
Application Requirements
- Must have a declared business major
- Be a Logan Main Campus student
- Have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be able to contribute 3 -10 hours per week; up to 20 hours for Business Week
- Applicants must submit an application with resume
