Douglas Younker is the Former Director of Human Resources - ICON Health & Fitness, Inc., where he spent 27 years. He has also been the founder and President of Younker Consulting, LLC for 4 years.

Doug has a BS in HR and 37 years of designing and managing Medical and Wellness plans, in addition to his overall responsibilities to oversee the entire Human Resource function. As the first HR person at ICON, the job required creating an HR group from the ground up.

ICON Health & Fitness is a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of home and commercial exercise equipment. Locations ranged from the US to Canada, South America, Europe, China, New Zealand, and Australia. Employment fluctuated from 1300 to over 4000 worldwide employees.

While the HR Director at ICON Doug added out-of-the-box medical solutions such as Complementary Medicine, Regenerative medicine, PGx, and Coba Health, into ICON’s traditional medical plans. These options have reduced plan expenses while improving the quality of life for employees. Regence Blue Cross, Humana, and Tall Tree Administrators have all stated that ICON had some of the lowest Medical and Rx costs of plans they manage across the country. Doug has presented on ICON’s unique plan in Los Angeles, Nashville, SLC, Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta, Paris France, and Stanford’s Medicine X. He has also presented at the AMCP and PBMI national conference on ICON’s Opioid pain management program. Doug is passionate about the story he shares since he has seen these modalities improve lives and reduce pain and suffering and save millions of dollars.

Douglas served on the Utah SHRM Crossroads Committee, Utah Council for Worksite Health Promotion, and the Utah State Health and Wellness Advisory Committee. He also served on Steering Committees at Oregon State University and Utah State University. When Doug has nothing else to do you will find him spending time with family, mountain biking, and backcountry skiing.
