Biography

Scot Marsden was born to McKay and Jyl Marsden on April 21, 1988. He was raised in the great land of Bountiful, Utah, with three brothers and three sisters. “Growing up in a big family was the greatest time ever. My siblings were and are my best friends,” said Mr. Marsden. He now is surrounded by twelve nieces and nephews who love their adventurous ‘Uncle Socky.'

During his time at Bountiful High School, Mr. Marsden excelled on both an academic and athletic level. He helped lead the Bountiful High Tennis Team to several region championships. After high school, he served a Spanish-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Francisco, California. While there, he fell in love with the Latin American people and hopes to continue his service to them through an international business career. Mr. Marsden loves spending time on the lake wakeboarding, skiing the slopes, rock climbing, golfing and playing basketball.

In December 2012, he will graduate with majors in economics and finance and minors in international business, Spanish and Portuguese. The Huntsman experience has been “the greatest education I could have ever asked for.” With the Huntsman School of Business, he has been able to participate in incredible study abroad, internship and club programs. The 2010 summer trip to Chile, Brazil, and Peru was extremely instrumental in expanding Mr. Marsden's understanding and knowledge of how the global market operates. The market analyst internship with Metalwest further developed his analytical rigor skills. His participation as an officer in the Finance and Economics Club has strengthened his ability to be an ethical leader who creates opportunities for others.
