Strategic Plan

As one of the first universities in the western United States to offer a degree in commerce, the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business has a long history of fostering research and scholarship, advancing the practice of business and management, and cultivating a spirit of lifelong learning. The school is home to five academic departments: the School of Accountancy, Data Analytics & Information Systems, Economics and Finance, Management, and Marketing & Strategy. The culture of the Huntsman School supports innovation and continuous improvement at the department and program levels and fosters a spirit of partnership among students, faculty, and other constituents based on mutual respect, trust, and benefit. Since business is the lifeblood of successful and prosperous communities, we envision our School as dedicated to bridging business theory with successful and ethical business practices. The Huntsman School of Business expects our graduates to be entrepreneurial and to be prepared to compete in the global marketplace. Entrepreneurs create solutions that add value to society and the economy by reinterpreting the world rather than waiting for the world to define them. We are focusing on four areas as we make transformational changes at the Huntsman School of Business. We are helping students realize the importance of ethical leadership, we are fueling the entrepreneurial spirit within each of them, we are helping them achieve a global vision of what they can do and we are emphasizing the importance of analytical rigor.
