Accreditation and Strategic Plan
The Huntsman School of Business programs in business and accounting are accredited
by AACSB International–The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
AACSB is the premier accrediting association for business and accounting programs.
As one of the first universities in the western United States to offer a degree in
commerce, the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business has an illustrious history of fostering
research and scholarship, advancing the practice of business and management and providing
lifelong learning. Theschool is home to four academic departments: Economics and Finance,
Management, Management Information Systems and the School of Accountancy. The Huntsman
School provides a culture that supports innovation and continuous improvement at the
department and program levels and fosters a spirit of partnership among students,
faculty and other constituents based on mutual respect, trust and benefit. Since business
is the lifeblood for successful and prosperous communities, we envision ourschool
as dedicated to bridging business theory with successful and ethical business practices.
The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business expects our graduates to be entrepreneurial
and to be prepared to compete in the global marketplace. Entrepreneurs create solutions
that add value to society and the economy by reinterpreting the world rather than
waiting for the world to define them. The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business aspires
to improve its national stature. Within the next10 years theschool seeks to be nationally
recognized. We are focusing on four areas as we make transformational changes at the
Huntsman School of Business. We are helping students realize the importance of ethical
leadership, we are fueling the entrepreneurial spirit within each of them, we are
helping themachieve a global vision of what they can do and we are emphasizing the
importance of analytical rigor.
