Biography

Jesse studied Business Management with an emphasis in Finance while at Brigham Young University - Idaho. He later went on to receive his MBA & MHR from Utah State University. Jesse currently is a Sr. HR Business Partner at Resideo that supports a unionized manufacturing facility and the customer/technical support functions. Jesse loves dogs, food, sports, video & board games, but ultimately likes to spend time with people (and dogs!).

Q: Why did you choose the Huntsman School Master of Human Resources Program?
R: Julie Pond! Ok, while she was the one who introduced me to the program, I joined because I knew I wanted to go into HR. I knew the program turned candidates into top-tier HR professionals and provided an opportunity/exposure to many doors.

Q: What was your favorite part of the Huntsman School MHR Program?
The growth, learning content, and relationships developed.

Q: What advice would you give current MHR students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in HR?
R: Be genuine. Be passionate. Work hard. Be known for having grit. It's OK to fail.

Q: What are your 2-3 main job duties?
R: Ensure operational success from and HR lense. Manage day to day HR escalations (such as investigations, employee relations, etc.). Proactively support the business by enabling leaders with coaching and tools.
