Biography

Lauren came to Utah State on a full ride athletic scholarship to play volleyball. She received her B.S. in Business Administration in 2019 after competing for 4 years on UtahState's volleyball team. During her time at Utah State, Lauren was involved in several different programs that allowed her to work with other student-athletes where she served as a representative and mentor. She helped athletes build the necessary skills for success through time management, effective communication and networking, and leadership development. Through these programs, she realized her passion to work with others and help them develop their skills and create habits for success.

Upon graduating in May of 2019, Lauren embarked on her journey to find the career path that most closely aligned with the passions that had been instilled in her. She started the Huntsman School Master of Human Resources Program in August of 2020. The MHR program provided incredible opportunities for learning and hands-on projects as well as exposure to top-tier companies like Resideo.

Lauren interned with Resideo as a Human Resource Generalist and got exposure to supporting a client group as well as several aspects of the compensation and benefits field. Upon the completion of her internship with Resideo in August of 2021, she accepted a full-time position with them in Golden Valley, MN. She is currently working as a Human Resource Business Partner for US and Canada Engineers.

Lauren spends her days cultivating a culture of excellence, supporting others in their career development and helping those she works with achieve their highest potential.

Q. Why did you choose the Huntsman School Master of Human Resources Program?
R. I chose the Hunstman School Master of Human Resources Program because it was a top ranked program that would allow me to build my Human Resource knowledge and skills and jump-start my career. This program also provided networking opportunities with a variety of fortune 500 companies with highly regarded HR departments.

Q. What was your favorite part of the Huntsman School MHR Program?
R. My favorite part of the Huntsman School MHR program was the classes. Each class has provided me with such valuable knowledge that I have been able to use in my role.

Q. What advice would you give current MHR students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in HR?
R. My advice to current MHR students is to start building your network now. HR is really all about relationships and building your connections with others now can be such an advantage down the road.

Q. What are your 2-3 main job duties?
R. 1. Supporting my client group with various HR tasks (hires, promotions, immigration, etc.)
2. Employee Performance Management
