Biography

Aaron Oborn is a Senior Labor and Employee Relations Specialist for Honeywell, based in the UK. He is on his second of three rotations in the Honeywell Future HR Leaders Program. Aaron has a passion for process improvement and adding value through automation. He is excited about working for a company that provides opportunities to learn and excel on a daily basis. Aaron loves living in the UK and appreciates the opportunity to experience other cultures with his wife and young daughter.

Q. Why did you choose the Huntsman School Master of Human Resources Program?
R. Utah State provided me the opportunity to go directly from my undergrad to a masters program. This enabled me to gain the critical skills, qualifications, and network to be able to work for a Fortune 100 company right away.

Q. What was your favorite part of the Huntsman School MHR Program?
R. My favourite part was the breadth and scope of the classes, I enjoyed the content and the quality of teaching.
 
Q. What advice would you give current MHR students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in HR?
R. Be curious and seek opportunities to add value. For HR there is often not the money or investments available to improve things, so you will need to figure out how to bootstrap and accomplish improvements on your own.

Q. What are your 2-3 main job duties?
R.1. Supporting the Honeywell European Works Council from a logistics and administrative point of view.
2. Responsible for Labor and Employee Relations in the Middle East, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
3. Automation, Process improvement, and Data Analytics for the LER Center of Excellence.
