Biography

Maria Covey Cole is a frequent speaker and presenter, and the author of Contentment: Inspiring Insights for LDS Mothers, published by Covenant Communications in 2009, and A Converted Woman’s Voice: Being Valiant in the Testimony of Jesus and in His Restored Gospel, published by Atmosphere Press in 2020.

Maria holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in Educational Studies from the University of Utah.

She has been a copy editor at Bookcraft Publishers, the Director of the Sylvan Learning Center in Salt Lake City, and has taught classes at BYU-Provo, BYU-Hawaii, the University of Utah, and most recently, LDS Business College. She has edited and contributed to several books through the years.

Maria is the proud co-founder of the Excellent Women Book Club, which is still going strong after three decades. She finds contentment in reading, writing, and teaching—and along with her husband Dave—raising their five children and growing number of grandchildren.
