A recent graduate from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business was recognized recently by a national news magazine as a rising star in the publishing industry.
Lance Brown, who graduated from Utah State University in 2010 with a degree in marketing, made FOLIO Magazine’s annual list of emerging leaders in the publishing industry. The list includes 13 people under the age of 30 who are “helping redefine the companies they work for.”
Lance started out as an intern for WTWH Media and was offered a full-time position after graduating. He is now the community manager for the Cleveland-based firm, a position that requires him to manage relationships between WTWH and its users.
He is involved with the company’s social media strategy. His company has grown 200 percent on Twitter and LinkedIn, and it has grown 5,000 percent on Facebook since he became the community manager, according to the FOLIO profile on him. He also manages additional social media accounts for businesses that work with WTWH.
"I have to do a lot of research to keep up on the social media industry,” Lance said. “It’s constantly changing.”
