The Master of Accounting (MAcc) at the Huntsman School of Accountancy is designed for students who have the desire to elevate their professional opportunities. Most students in this program aspire to become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and join the ranks of the most trusted and recognized financial services profession in the world. The MAcc program builds upon the undergraduate accounting curriculum to provide students with the enhanced ability to research, analyze, and communicate on various accounting and taxation issues. The MAcc program also instills professional attitudes and values.
The School of Accountancy has long cultivated strategic relationships with the accounting profession and its accounting alumni, many of whom are now leaders in the accounting and business communities. Their example of professional conduct, and their willingness to spend time on campus enables our students to begin early to build a professional network and prepare themselves to enter the accounting profession.
The MAcc enjoys an outstanding reputation among the employers who come to campus to recruit our students. Among those with ongoing recruiting relationships are the Big Four accounting firms, large regional accounting firms, local firms, and government agencies. For the past three years, an average of 93% of MAcc graduates had accepted employment offers by the time of their graduation.
