Executive Team

Kyle Ivins - Club President

Kyle is a Senior in Business, he has started multiple companies including Kilo Relay Series, EnvolvSocial, and is passionate about the development of new business ideas. He served as the Entrepreneurship Club Development Team Leader last year and is excited to serve this year as club president. He is the father of a brand new baby girl, Andilee. He enjoys reading, swimming, and archery.

Brian Karchner - Exec. Vice President

Brian Kartchner grew up in South Jordan, Utah and from a very young age has tried to make a buck varying from lemonade stands to mowing lawns. Having a father who is an entrepreneur himself, entrepreneurship is something that he has been raised with and has been a large part of his life.

Since childhood, Brian has done several entrepreneurial activities from window cleaning companies to website marketing. Aside from his entrepreneurial pursuits, Brian is also an Army veteran having served a tour of duty in Iraq. He now is currently studying Sociology with a minor in business and is working toward getting into the MBA program at Utah State University.

Reed Page - Exec. Vice president

Reed has been involved in the startup of few companies including Page-Stroud Finance and Straight Shot Testing and Inspection Services. He traveled with the Huntsman School to South America during Summer 2012 with the Study Abroad Program. He is passionate about entrepreneurship. He has a lovely wife who he has been married to for almost a year.

David Reynolds - Exec.Vice President

David is a Senior in Mechanical Engineering and is excited to bring a different perspective to the Entrepreneurship Club. He is passionate about innovation, idea genesis and evaluation as well as critical thinking and design. After he finishes his Bachelors in Engineering he plans on pursuing his MBA through the Hunstman School of Business. David is a veteran of the Marine Corps, and holds a special respect for those who have served our country. He has been married for six years to his wonderful wife Angie and has one son, Noah.

Innovation Team

Ryan Beus - Innovation Team President

Ryan is currently an MBA student at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in May of 2012. He is looking forward to providing technical help, idea refinement, and assistance in creating solid business opportunities for USU students. Ryan is constantly thinking outside of the box and looking at different ways to innovate and create new ideas. He has worked for an engineering company, Thermal Management Technologies for the last 3 years, where he has been heavily involved in product development. He has been married for 5 years and has an adorable little family. If Ryan ever gets any spare time, he enjoys cycling, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Ryan Beus

Richard Mason - Innovation Vice President

Richard is currently working on his MBA here at Utah State. Prior to coming to Utah State he worked at Goldman Sachs and Company. At Goldman Sachs he worked with European, Middle East, and Asia teams to ensure that clients met FSA regulations. Richard also worked to ensure Private Wealth clients were eligible to participate in IPOS’s under FINRA regulations. Worked to ensure clients were able to participate in large IPO’s such as Facebook and Groupon. Prior to Goldman Sachs and Company he worked as a project coordinator for Solid Ground Grading. While there he helped start a subsidiary company called Solid Ground Construction. Richard loves the excitement that comes from starting new ventures and creating new value. Richard enjoys everything that has to do with the outdoors.

Development Team

Kirk Brundage - Development Team President

Kirk returned to Utah State University as a MBA student after selling his business in the summer of 2011. He received his undergrad from USU in Entrepreneurship in 2007. Entrepreneurship has always been a passion of his. He loves looking for ways to make money and evaluating new business ideas. Kirk spends most of his time with his wife and son. He loves the outdoors. He enjoys running, cycling, hiking and snowboarding.

Erik Mikkelsen - Development Vice President

Erik Mikkelsen is currently serving as a student member of the state Board of Regents. Erik is from Bunkerville Nevada and is currently a senior at Utah State pursuing degrees in finance and communication studies. Along with his studies at Utah State Erik has served as last year’s student body president, VP of recruitment and president of the Utah Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and has been part of many other clubs and organizations. After graduating from Utah State, Erik, plans to work for a few years before returning to school to get an MBA. Erik enjoys running, hunting, yoga, hiking, juggling, cooking and an assortment of other strange talents. When people meet Erik they are surprised to find out that he can do the splits. Erik is the son of Ned and Janet Mikkelsen who are both educators. He has three brothers and is proud to say that he is still the tallest even if it is only by a quarter of an inch.

Design Team

Jeffrey Lewis - Design Vice President

While in high school, Jeff got bit by the entrepreneurship bug. As he worked for a local entrepreneur in Spanish Fork, Utah, he developed skills in web design, graphic design, SEO, and outsourcing management. He enjoys seeing the visual side of business ideas come to life. Jeff is studying Mechanical Engineering and plans to add an MBA through the Huntsman School as well.

Brandon Asay - Design Vice President

Brandon is a Senior in Civil Engineering and provides an engineering perspective to entrepreneurship. He loves assisting the development of ideas, fixing problems, and creating design. Experiencing design and developing ideas outside of the classroom is one of his top priorities and currently he assists 3 design and development clubs on campus, namely, Engineering E-council as a Club Coordinator, a Co-Captain of the Steel Bridge design team, and as Design VP for E-Club. He has experience in design using multiple CAD software’s including AutoCAD and Bentley Microstation. Brandon is working hard to graduate and then pursue graduate studies in Structural Engineering, but hopes that entrepreneurship will play a significant role in his career.

Consulting Team

Nathan Putnam - Consulting Team President

An accomplished leader with a proven record of building value in relationships. Experienced in Sales Training and Writing, Management, and Business Development. He excels at building relationships, developing sales channels, and sales training. He has experience in selling to and building relationships with Retailers, Big Box Chains (Best Buy Ca),Distributors (D&H), and National Accounts (Radio Shack) on the local, national and international levels.

Courtney Leishman - Consulting Exec. Vice President

Chris Chamberlain - Consulting Vice President

Chris graduated in economics at BYU and is currently pursuing an MBA, he has worked with a couple hedge funds, an oil exploration company, and an online advertising startup. He loves behavioral economics and the strategic aspects of entrepreneurship. He enjoys reading, riding motorcycles, and eating pizza. After graduation, Chris hopes to attend law school, spend some time working in microfinance, and continue developing startup companies.

Kenny Jardine - Consulting Vice President

Kenny is currently a senior studying Business Administration. He started his first business, PrettyNew, in January 2012. He loves the hardships and problem solving that comes with new business ventures. Entrepreneurship has increasingly become more intriguing to him. He is from Brigham City, UT and spends most of his free time participating in extreme sports. Snowboarding is a love of his and he currently works as a snow sports instructor at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort. Music is a major part of his life and he enjoys playing the acoustic guitar. He seeks to only participate in things that he can get excited about. Entrepreneurship is one of those things.

Marketing Team

David Grange - Marketing Team President

David is beyond super excited to be a part of the marketing team this year for the entrepreneurship club. For his undergraduates degree David is studying pubic relations with a minor in organizational communication and marketing. When he is not found on campus he is most likely up the canyon recreating in various ways. With a work hard play hard mentality David loves going all out in the business room and being involved with collegiate clubs and activities as well as out on the slopes and mountains. David lives by the motto, "do one thing everyday that scares you". He also lives by the quote "if you only do what you know you can do, you never discover what you could do."

Trent Hagman - VP Offline Marketing

Scott Harward - VP Online Marketing

Scott is a sophomore pursuing a degree in Marketing. He has a background of working for companies in the fields in SEO, internet marketing, and eCommerce. Many of Scott's role models in life taught him many principles of entrepreneurship and instilled a desire to accomplish great things. Scott loves to be outdoors and explore the world that is around him. Along with working hard, he makes sure that he has time to play hard to keep his life in balance.

Natasha Bodily - Outreach Team President

Jaclyn Beazer

Jaclyn is from Logan, Utah. She graduated from Utah State with BA and MA in History and is now pursuing her MBA from the Huntsman School of Business. She hopes to be able to use this combination of experiences to start her own business as a genealogical consultant. In her spare time she likes to read, and spend time with her family and friends.

Events Team

Steven Espinoza - Events Team President

Steven will graduate in May with dual degrees in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, and a minor in International Business. His entrepreneurial spirit started at a very young age and included the art of networking. In 8th grade he took his thumbnail sized school photos, wrote his phone number on the back, and started building his network. Steven started his first “real” business at the age of 21. Besides owning and operating three businesses in the last 9 years he continues to apply entrepreneurial principles into other areas of his life including school. Since being in school Steven has had the opportunity to travel to five countries in Europe to study. He also lived in Ghana for three months teaching business development classes and providing micro-loans to entrepreneurs in small rural villages. He brings a long history of successful event planning and management to the E-Club events team. He has managed hundreds of events for over 50 different organizations (16 of which are Fortune 100) all across the country including: Geico, Subaru, Delta, Nokia, 3M, MLS, NBA, NCAA, Coca-Cola, AT&T, Adidas and Disney. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, reading, watching old movies, and gargling songs.

Steven Mortenson - Events Vice President

Steven Mortenson is from Pleasant Grove, UT. He now lives in Logan studying Business Administration and Organizational Communication at Utah State University. Upon graduation, he hopes to motivate others to be the best that they can be and to one day own his own consulting firm where he can share lessons that he has learned with other strong business executives. Steven is passionate about new business ventures and loves to share ideas with his peers.

Stuart Richards - Competitions Team President

Sara Mickelson

Sara is currently getting her Master’s in Business Administration from the Huntsman School of Business and will graduate May 2013. She graduated with a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine in 2009 and with a Master’s in Nutrition from the University of Utah in 2011. She is a Registered Dietian and loves to run and compete in triathlons.
