Biography

Ken was raised in Cache Valley and grew up in the small town of Wellsville. He’s been an Aggie fan since birth. Ken received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Utah State University.

After graduation, Ken worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for seven years. While at PwC, Ken provided assurance services for private and public companies in a variety of industries including oil and gas, defense contracting, manufacturing, distribution and nonprofit.

Ken joined the Ogden firm Schmitt, Griffith, Smith & Co. in 2007 and served as the audit partner. In 2012, the local firm joined regional firm Eide Bailly LLP. Ken is the audit partner over the Ogden office and oversees recruiting efforts at Utah State and Weber State universities. Ken has more than 15 years of public accounting experience providing audit and consulting services to a variety of companies.

Ken is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA). He is a former Peer Review Team Captain for the AICPA and Past President of the Northern Chapter of the UACPA. He has also served as Chairman for the Clearfield City Planning Commission. Ken currently serves as the Treasurer for the Boy Scouts of America, Trapper Trails Council and is a member of the Utah Manufacturing Association.

Ken is an active supporter of Utah State University and can be seen guest lecturing at the School of Accountancy or presenting at Beta Alpha Psi activities and events.

Ken enjoys golfing, backpacking, skiing, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and traveling. He is the proud father of two girls and three boys and resides in Layton.
