Biography

David L. Clark currently holds the position of Director of Business Development in the Commercial Enterprises group at Utah State University. In this capacity, he assists in the commercialization of technologies being developed by Utah State faculty researchers.

Mr. Clark joined the faculty of Utah State University as the Executive Director of Entrepreneurial Programs in the Huntsman School of Business in October 2008. From that time until June 2011 he lectured and oversaw programs designed to promote entrepreneurial spirit as a pillar of the Huntsman School’s educational experience.

From October 2005 to October 2008 he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Prolexys Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a privately held biopharmaceutical firm developing novel cancer therapies in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Prior to Prolexys he was Vice President, Corporate Affairs at NPS Pharmaceuticals (Salt Lake City) from 1996 till 2005 and was involved in business development, funding transactions, investor relations, and corporate communications.

Earlier career experiences include senior management positions at AgriDyne Technologies, Clark Financial Corporation and UI Group.

Mr. Clark holds a B.S. degree in botany from Brigham Young University (1976), an M.S. degree in agronomy with an emphasis in plant genetics from the University of Illinois (1978), and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Utah (1980). Mr. Clark is a founding trustee of the Utah Life Science Association, a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Utah Technology Council and serves as a member of the Governor’s State Advisory Council on Science and Technology.

David and his wife Christine are the parents of six children and the grandparents of nine grandchildren. In addition to family and community activities, he enjoys reading, skiing, golf, fishing, and travel.
