The National Exploration Trips are multiple day trips led by Jon M. Huntsman School of Business faculty and staff. These trips take 15-20 students to some of the biggest cities in the US to explore career opportunities, learn about the culture of the city and network with prominent alumni and friends of the university.
The 2013 locations are Washington DC, Chicago and New York City. The Washington DC trip will explore careers at the nexus of business and government, while both the Chicago and New York trip will focus on finance. Students who attend a national trip will visit multiple businesses/organizations each day and have the opportunity to attend an event with alumni from the area.
Students should expect to spend around $1,000 on a National Career Exploration Trip.
That being said, cost will vary depending on the student. The Huntsman School will collect money for a hotel, but students will be responsible for booking their own flight and providing their own meals.
By booking their own flights, students can hopefully get cheaper airfare and have the flexibility to arrive early or stay later in the city. Those who wish to still fly with a group will be notified of the flight the trip leaders book.
