Utah State University (USU) had an outstanding showing at the state collegiate DECA competition in February. All twelve USU students who competed were finalists for their events and thus qualified for the national competition in Orlando, Florida, in April. Furthermore, USU had four students win first place in their respective events.
DECA is student organization with more than 215,000 members around the world. DECA’s goal is to help the next generation become responsible, community-oriented, and experienced leaders. To accomplish this goal, DECA provides students authentic, experiential learning opportunities to prepare college members for their future careers.
Two Time Champs
For the second straight year, a trio of students from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University won the state-level competition for the CFA Institute Research Challenge in Salt Lake City.
The team of Tyson Clark, Kemerey Thompson and James Huber took first place at the annual event on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Marriott City Center in Salt Lake City.
