As we enjoy typical Spring days when what seems like all four seasons come and go
within 24 hours, our students are preparing for finals just a few short days away.
This month brings national recognition to the Huntsman School, and the addition of
two new faculty members.
A team of our students took first place in a marketing analytics competition held
at Wake Forest University, beating esteemed programs from Wharton, Notre Dame, and
USC. These five students put in countless hours preparing for the competition, and
I am especially proud of the work by one of our marketing students, Eliza Comer, who
served as the team coach, and by the guidance and enthusiasm of the faculty advisor,
Professor Eric Schulz.
This semester, we also welcomed two new faculty members, Briggs Depew and Mike Ulrich.
Professor Depew specializes in applied microeconomics with a focus on health economics
and labor economics, while Professor Ulrich’s research and teaching are focused on
HR and strategy. I have no doubt that both Briggs and Mike will be involved in work
that receives national recognition as well.
