   <bio>Tyson Barrett, PhD, is a Professional Practice Associate Professor of Data Analytics and Information Systems in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Tyson earned his Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications spanning multilevel modeling, Bayesian modeling, causal inference, and applied machine learning. Prior to joining the Huntsman School, he led an advanced analytics team at Highmark Health, directing a group of statisticians, health analysts, and informaticists working on healthcare analytics problems.Tyson is passionate about teaching modern data and analytic techniques through hands-on learning, and about preparing the next generation of analytics leaders to use data as a powerful tool for problem-solving and decision-making. He is also a longtime contributor to the open-source community as the CRAN maintainer of the widely used data.table R package and a familiar presence at conferences such as posit::conf and useR!.</bio>
