The additional tuition, also referred to as differential tuition, is approved through the State of Utah Board of Regents and is used in the Huntsman School primarily to support higher labor costs for business-discipline faculty. The higher costs for business-discipline faculty are mainly due to a supply/demand issue in the labor market for business-discipline faculty across the US. The average costs for faculty across higher education are noted in the 2018-2019 Faculty in Higher Education Survey conducted by The College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.
