Jason Wendel is the Professional Practice Managing Technical Partner - Engagement Quality Review for BDO USA starting in December 2022. In this role Jason oversees the Engagement Quality Review program which includes overseeing the areas of trainings, credentialling, assignments, and guidance.

 

Jason was an audit partner with KPMG LLP until he retired in October 2022. As an audit partner in KPMG’s Salt Lake City office, he had a focus on auditing clients in the technology, life science, consumer markets, investment management, real estate, and retail industries. He has experience serving both public and private companies. His experience includes the direction of and coordination with KPMG international firms, interaction with client senior management and audit committees on key business and technical accounting issues, mergers and acquisitions, and Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance. He was also an SEC Engagement Quality Review Partner.

 

Jason completed a rotation in KPMG’s national office in 2007 to 2010 in New York City as a senior manager where his responsibilities included the development of internal and external accounting literature and publications, consulting with engagement teams on technical matters in the areas of accounting and financial reporting, independence, audit, and the development of firm trainings.
