Biography

Since 1975, Quentin Stewart has been employed by Solar Turbines Incorporated, a Caterpillar Company. Solar Turbines is a world-leading producer of mid-range industrial gas turbines for use in power generation, natural gas compression, and pumping systems. It provides full product support, equipment supply, financing, plus installation and operation and maintenance capability. In 1981, Caterpillar purchased the company, and today, Solar Turbines Incorporated is a wholly owned subsidiary.

In addition to technical and administrative positions with Solar in San Diego, California, Mr. Stewart has held a variety of management positions in Mexico, Louisiana, Belgium, Texas, and was most recently appointed to the position of managing director for Solar Turbines Australia with overall business responsibility for Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.

Mr. Stewart received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 1972 before coming to Utah State University where he graduated in 1974 with his MBA. He has published and presented technical papers on gas turbine power generation, operation, maintenance, and overhaul in industry publications and conferences. He is a member of the Australian Pipeline Industry Association (APIA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Quentin is married to Barbara Stewart, who is also a USU alum completing her master’s degree in 1974 in home economics and consumer education. They have five children, and they reside in Sandringham Vic, Australia.
