Smallwood is a co-author of six books and has published more than 150 articles in leading journals and newspapers as well as contributing chapters to multiple books. He was selected as one of the top 100 Voices in Leadership by Executive Excellence magazine in February 2005, 2006 and 2007. He is also a board member for HELP International and is an honorary colonel for the West Valley City Police Department.
