While he was at Ford, he applied to Harvard and was accepted as the Ford Fellow. Ford paid his tuition with the understanding that he would return to the company after he finished his MBA. Instead of returning to Ford, he spent several years with Wall Street firms and private equity shops.

He also possesses a strong entrepreneurial management and operational background. He founded and was CEO of an IT services company financed by two well-respected institutional capital providers. He returned to Utah a few years ago to co-found a private equity firm, Ridgeview Capital, which has become a preeminent merchant bank, providing private equity capital and investment banking services to Mountain West companies.

Mr. Larson has been recognized as one of Utah Business Magazine's 2006 Forty Under 40. He currently sits on the boards of Metro Waste, Koster's Finance and Wasatch West Distribution.

He is married to Julianne, who is also a 1991 alumnus in art and a former Sunburst dancer. Mr. and Mrs. Larson reside in Fruit Heights, Utah.
