Biography

For over forty years, Brad Jackman had many tremendous business opportunities at Morton Thiokol, IBM, WordPerfect and Xactware. While attending Utah State University, Brad participated in on-campus recruiting conducted by IBM. His goal for many years was to work for IBM. He was told he needed 5 years of professional experience before being seriously considered by IBM. Brad went to work for Morton Thiokol as a Business Systems Analyst and joined IBM 5 years and two weeks later.

Several years later, Brad was recruited by the executive team at WordPerfect. Leaving IBM was a very difficult decision for Brad as working for IBM had been one of his business aspirations. After about a year of aggressive invitations and many descriptions of very exciting opportunities with a much smaller company, Brad made the decision to join the management team at WordPerfect. WordPerfect was another fantastic company with excellent people and a great learning experience. Brad stayed with WordPerfect for many years and then left to join Xactware about a year after Novell acquired WordPerfect.

Brad was recruited by the founder of Xactware to join as his business partner and Executive Vice President. This was a new experience for Brad as the business had unprofitable revenues of $1.8 million at the time he joined. When Brad retired from Xactware a dozen years later, the very profitable annual revenues were nearing $200 million. Xactware was sold to an East coast company 2 years before Brad retired. Xactware was another great experience for Brad where he associated with fantastic people and had a great learning experience.

Brad is currently serving as a member of the USU Huntsman National Advisory Board, USU Entrepreneurship Founder's Board, Board of Governors - Heritage School for wayward youth, Advisory Council - Fezzari Performance Bicycles, Athletic Leadership Council – BYU, Team Leadership Council (Volleyball) – BYU and multiple service opportunities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Brad and his wife Vicki are the parents of 6 children and grandparents of 12 grandchildren.
