Mark Holland is chairman and CEO of Intermountain Staffing Resources, and he also owns Ascend HR Solutions. Intermountain Staffing provides temporary staff for companies specializing in light industrial work, entry-level trade position and entry-level clerical positions. They have offices in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona, and they fill jobs throughout the West. Intermountain Staffing is among the largest staffing companies in the United States (top three percent of all staffing companies with respect to sales).

Ascend HR Solutions outsources business human resource functions from small-to-medium-sized companies. They manage the payroll, workers compensation, benefits and employee-liability issues for their clients. They were named to Inc. Magazine’s "500 List" for two consecutive years, the Utah "100 List" for the past four years and was the 22nd-fastest growing staffing company in 2005.

Mr. Holland has visited campus several times and taught in the Executive Leadership Class. He currently provides internship opportunities for our HR students. He has hosted dinner with students in conjunction with the Dine with Alumni event and he has also hosted dinner with the dean and alumni at his home in North Salt Lake, Utah.

He received the Professional Achievement Award in Spring 2005. He is networking chair and past president of Young President’s Organization Utah Chapter and is also a member of the Salt Lake Rotary Club. He is active in his community and church and is an avid mountain biker and backpacker. He and his wife, Wendi, live in North Salt Lake with their four children. They support the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business National Advisory Board Scholarship.
