He is interested in service operations management and specifically the impact operational decisions have on service design and customer experiences. Mike’s research focuses on scheduling decisions an organization might consider when planning a series of events. Specifically, much of his research considers the impact that event sequencing might play in memory and overall evaluation of service experiences. His research has been published in top academic journals such as the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Service Science, and the Journal of Service Management.
Before joining academia, Mike worked for American Express as a risk manager and service operations analysist and he worked for over 10 years in the food service and retail grocery industries.
Mike has taught courses on Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Services Management, and Managerial Statistics.
Mike’s hobbies include playing the ukulele, woodworking, fly fishing, gardening, hiking, and biking.
