Biography

Mr. Daines joined CVF Capital Partners, a California based private equity firm, in 2017. In his role at CVF, Alex is responsible for all aspects of the investment process including deal origination, industry research, due diligence, and deal execution. He also works closely with existing portfolio companies in industries such as aerospace, industrial manufacturing, and industrial services.

Prior to joining CVF, he spent nearly two years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management working in the Alternative Investment and Manager Selection (AIMS) business specializing in hedge fund client strategies. While at Goldman Sachs, he helped construct, monitor, and analyze hedge fund of fund portfolios for multi-billion dollar institutional and high net worth clients. He is also Series 7 and 63 FINRA certified.

Mr. Daines graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University with B.A.’s in Finance and Economics. He was also a member of the tennis team and spent two years abroad in Santiago, Chile where he developed fluency in Spanish. He enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly skiing at his local favorites, Beaver Mountain and Snowbasin.
