Biography

Sam Clark started working for the Dale Barton Agency in 1975 while he was still a student at the University of Utah. While there he was a student body officer, and he graduated in 1977 with a degree in finance, management and accounting.

He started as a file clerk; and, as he served in a number of capacities, he has worked his way up in the company. In 1984, he purchased an interest in the agency to become a co-owner and an officer. In 2004, he bought out his partner and became president and CEO of the company.

A resident of Salt Lake City, Mr. Clark has been a strong supporter of his alma mater and was the founder and vice president of the University of Utah Young Alumni Board. He served on the University of Utah Alumni Board from 1996-2000.

He has been active as a community volunteer and has served as an executive board member of the InterCity Project in Salt Lake City. He was the Highland High School Foundation President, the Community Council Chairman at Highland High School and the Community Council Chairman of Sunset Oaks Subdivision.

Mr. Clark is now serving on the Silver Lake Company Board of Directors and the Construction Financial Management Association Board of Directors. He is also a Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors member. He is now a board member of the Deseret Foundation, which is an affiliate of Intermountain Health Care.

He has twice served as a bishop for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is now serving as a stake president for the LDS church.

He married Elizabeth Barton Clark in 1976 and has four children and three grandchildren.
