Biography

Matt Berrett serves as the director of analytics for the Space Dynamics Laboratory at Utah State University and is as one of the founders of the Center for Anticipatory Intelligence at USU.

Prior to coming to USU, he spent more than two decades at the Central Intelligence Agency, serving in various leadership positions, including as Assistant Director and Head of the Global Issues Mission Center, and Mission Manager for the Near East, South Asia, and Africa within CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology. His other senior leadership positions included being the Director of the President’s Daily Brief and heading three CIA analytic offices—Iraq; Near East and South Asia; and the Middle East and North Africa. Earlier in his career, Berrett served and traveled with Vice President Cheney as his daily intelligence briefer.

Matt and his wife Sandi returned to Utah in 2017.
